My mother sent me Agege bread from Nigeria to London.
a really late week update, watching a new show, cheers to great health.
My last week began with falling ill, which was unfortunate because it meant I couldn’t do some of the things I needed to do.
“Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time to replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” – Eleanor Brownn
Here are 5 things I did while I was sick:
dreamt that I got married to David John Washington.
dreamt about slapping Donald Trump (???).
started watching “Shogun”.
started watching “ParentHood”.
spent close to 2hrs looking for my phone. I found it on one of my legs.
Last week was also a turning point for me. It wasn’t the first time I told myself I needed to prioritize my health and self-care, but it really hit home this time. Amid the hustle and bustle of daily life, I’ve been so focused on work, goals, and responsibilities that I’ve often pushed my own needs to the back burner. Sound familiar?
This week, I’m committing to doing better. I’m reminding myself (and you!) that self-care isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. Whether it’s carving out time for a workout, hanging out with people who make you happy, choosing to eat less unhealthy meals, or simply allowing myself to rest without guilt.

As we step into a new week, I encourage you to reflect on how you’re taking care of yourself. What small steps can you take to invest more time, energy, or resources into your well-being? Let’s hold each other accountable and prioritise self-care, not just a promise we revisit when we’re overwhelmed.
🥂Here’s to being kinder to ourselves.
What’s one thing you’re doing to prioritise your health this week? I’d love to hear from you!
The highlight of my week:
My mother sent Agege Bread (a soft, sweet, white bread that originated in Agege, Nigeria) from Nigeria to London because I jokingly mentioned that I wanted Agege Bread when she asked me what I wanted from Nigeria. This will definitely be the highlight of my month.
☕What I enjoyed last week:
Receiving visitors: some friends came over last week to keep me company. It was really really nice.
Sleep when it finally came.
Modern medicine when it finally kicked in.
Starting the show “Shogun”.
Slowing down.
When Clare visited me, I made her watch “Beyoncé @ Cochella”. I am a big fan of the entire production; I love recommending it to my women to watch it at least once.
When Nicole visited me, I made her watch the first season of xo, Kitty. I watched S1 a whole back, needed her to catch-up.
Thank you for reading. I hope you have a great week. I will love love to hear from you:
I've recently started taking walks in the park, and it has been a wonderful way for me to unwind and find moments of peace. It's amazing how spending time in nature can provide such a satisfying escape from everyday stress.
I hope you're feeling much better!
